Cathy Thomas Hess voted as member of the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board

HARRISBURG, PENNSYLVANIA (August 6) - Cathy Thomas Hess, RN, BSN, CWOCN, founder and President of Wound Care Strategies, Inc., was selected by a vote of her peers to be a member of the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board. The Board is involved in the strategic planning and decision making that will take the WOC certification to new heights. Ms. Hess holds current WOCNCB certification and through her experience is skilled in strategic planning, leadership, project development and implementation. Furthermore, Ms. Hess has experience working with diverse groups.

Since my first certification in 1988 I have been proud of the accomplishments we, as a group, continue to make to our society and our respective communities,” said Ms. Hess.

She is also the Clinical Editor for Advances in Skin and Wound Care, Department Editor for Wound Care Infolink, has made more than 25 guest seminar appearances and guest lectures for Wicks Educational Associates, an accredited teaching organization for new enterostomal therapy nurses.

Ms. Hess appeared with Governor Mark Schweiker at the Governor’s Mansion in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on May 20 and later that evening at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center, Hershey, Pennsylvania as she was recognized as one of Pennsylvania’s 50 Outstanding Women in Business. “The Best 50 Women in Business awards program honors Pennsylvania women for the many professional and personal contributions they make, and provides the recognition they so richly deserve” said Governor Schweiker.
