Cathy Thomas Hess receives Outstanding Business Woman Award
HARRISBURG, PENNSYLVANIA (May 20)- Cathy Thomas Hess, RN, BSN, CWOCN, founder and President of Wound Care Strategies, Inc., today was honored as one of Pennsylvania’s Best 50 Women in Business for 2002. Ms. Hess was selected as Pennsylvania’s best from numerous nominations of accomplished women business leaders, representing all sectors of the business community, based on her outstanding professional and personal accomplishments, and her advocacy in the business community, particularly on behalf of women.
“As a registered nurse, my passion has always been patient care. As a wound care specialist, I saw a need to empower caregivers with the knowledge and tools to provide their patients with the best quality care. I am honored to receive this award as recognition of the great strides we’ve been able to attain in the wound care arena,” said Ms. Hess.
As the author and developer of TriAssessÆ software for outpatient wound care departments, TriAssessÆ Trials software for clinical trials, the Clinical Wound Manager™ Manual Series, Wound and Skin Documentation Management Manual, Clinical Guide to Wound Care, 4th ed., Ms. Hess also has appeared in several educational videos and has authored more than 80 articles for nationally distributed industry journals. She is also the Clinical Editor for Advances in Skin and Wound Care, Department Editor for Wound Care Infolink, has made more than 25 guest seminar appearances and guest lectures for Wicks Educational Associates, an accredited teaching organization for new enterostomal therapy nurses.
