Clinical Guide Goes International

HARRISBURG, PENNSYLVANIA - The Clinical Guide to Wound Care, authored by Cathy Thomas Hess, now in its 4th edition, continues to gain international exposure. First published in the United States in 1995 by Springhouse Corporation, an Italian version was published in 1999 by Masson S.p.A, Italy. Most recently, the guide was released by Reichmann and Alfonso Editores, Rio de Janiero, in Portuguese.

Founded by Cathy Thomas Hess, Wound Care Strategies is known for providing valuable resource tools for providers and manufacturers. Ms. Hess was the first to create a Wound Care Products directory in April 1993 to assist manufacturers present their products and to assist the caregiver in finding the product of choice. This directory is now emulated by several publishers. She was also the first to create documentation forms to be used as a system to assist the caregiver. And she was the first to see the need of the case manager to gain education in the field of wound care and created and, in the early 1990’s, presented national educational seminars for the case manager. Ms. Hess is also the author of The Clinical Wound Manager Manual Series and the TriAssessÆ and TriAssessÆ Trials software for outcomes data collection and reporting and clinical trials.
