Wound Care Strategies has a variety of seminars and educational workshops available. Whether one-on-one or company wide - a payer, provider of care, manufacturer, or supplier of skin and wound care products - WCS provides the means of increasing your expertise in the field of quality skin and wound care. Such engagements can be customized to specific topics of interest. An example of such is our Case Manager Seminars.
- WCS spearheaded the creation and presentation of the first national skin and wound care seminars for case managers. The seminars are educational in scope with keynote speakers and an exposition from leading industry skin and wound care suppliers.
Other seminars and workshops include:
Wound Care Basics
This session covers the basics of skin and wound care including anatomy and physiology of the skin, the wound healing process, and factors impeding wound healing.
Wound Assessment and Documentation
This session covers skin and wound assessment of the patient, wound types, and related descriptions. Classification and definitions of wounds, including staging, are also included in this session.
Wound Measurement and Documentation
This session covers wound measurement and appropriate and consistent documentation. Tunneling and debridement are also addressed, along with additional assessment factors.
Product Choices Based on Wound Characteristics and Setting
This session addresses the design of a clinically effective and cost efficient skin and wound pathway based on the care setting.
Diagnosis, Documentation, and Dressings: A Wound and Skin Care Workshop
This session addresses prevention and intervention strategies for skin and wound care, including assessment, classification, dressing selection, and documentation. This hands-on session will show you how to select and use appropriate dressings for various wound types.
Diagnosis, Dressings, Documentation, and Dollars: A Wound Pathway Development Workshop
In this session, the faculty will lead you through specific processes designed to develop 2 wound pathways: one for venous ulcers and one for pressure ulcers. Along the way, you'll explore the pathophysiology of each wound type, how to select the appropriate topical treatment based on the dressing's function, what documentation will be required from a legal perspective, and the payment mechanisms for wound care that practitioners can expect in various settings.
