Educational Activities for the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

These educational activities target the certified nursing assistant. Each of The activities is grouped into three educational programs to a set. Each Program is twenty minutes in length. Each set is sixty minutes in length. At the successful completion of the entire set, the CNA will receive a Certificate of completion.

These educational activities assist the CNA to develop basic skills to provide optimal body support, optimal activity and maintenance of necessary support surfaces.

Identification and communication skills for skin care

These educational activities assist the CNA to empower staff awareness in maintaining resident dignity during the care process and developing the basic reporting skills.

Set 3: Preview

Infection Control
Hand Hygiene

These educational activities assist the CNA to secure knowledge to understand the CNA’s role in a facility’s infection control program.

Set 4:
Skin Caring
Understanding Skin Care Products
Incontinence Caring
These educational activities assist the CNA to understand the function of the skin and the process of maintaining skin integrity.

Set 5:
The Effects of Nutrition on Skin Care
Feeding Skills for Proper Nutrition
The Effects of Hydration on Skin Care

These educational activities provide the necessary guidance for CNA’s to assist in maintaining appropriate resident nutrition and hydration status.
